🐞 My Nature Garden

Natural pest sprays

Three simple remedies. 1) Soap spray against aphids and whitefly: 1 tablespoon of plain liquid soap (not washing-up liquid) in 1 litre of water; spray the pests directly in the evening, try it on one leaf first. 2) Herbal infusion: a cup each of wormwood or tansy, lavender and sage soaked in 1 litre of hot water overnight, strained, with a teaspoon of soap — smells strong, deters many pests. 3) Wood ash: dust it on wet leaves against flea beetles. Even natural sprays hit the helpers too: spray only the infested spots, never flowers in bloom, and not when ladybirds are at work.
